Thy Kingdom Come 2022
May 26th to June 5th
Why not join in?
This year we are encouraging individuals and prayer groups to join in with Thy Kingdom Come and commit a time to praying for your local school.
This could be at a prayer event with others from your church or churches together or in your church service. It might be praying on your own or with your local prayer group. See PFS Thy Kingdom Come flier
Thy Kingdom Come have provided loads of resources to encourage us as we pray. This year’s theme is the Fruits of the Spirit with a focus on Faithfulness, Joy, Love, Kindness and Patience. All qualities that we pray will be manifest in our own lives and those in our schools.
See the Thy Kingdom Come website (new material is being added for 2022)
If you prefer to prayer walk see our video and resources below
During ‘Thy Kingdom Come’ last May, Pray for Schools encouraged our groups to prayer walk around their local schools. We were inspired by Paul Gibbs of Pais who walked across north England, praying for schools! Take a look on thruhikeforschools
We would love you to prayer walk around your local area, stopping outside the schools and lifting them to God in prayer. Our Prayer Walking pdf is available to download here PFS Prayer Walk Leaflet 2021
We had a very encouraging event. The three main schools work organisations in the town worked together on it and 42 people came which we were very pleased about, considering we have them less than two weeks’ notice!
We had a most successful day, and with people coming from such a wide variety of backgrounds, we found it encouraging to realize just how many people have a real heart for everyone at the school.
I was really blessed to see a teacher from the town come into the prayer room. After he left I took a look at the prayer he had written on one of the prayer walls and it was truly beautiful: ‘Dear Lord, please help me to be a reflection of your love in my school and help me to be there for those who need me’. Simply wonderful; how great to have a man like this as a teacher with influence for the King in our schools!
All in all it was a fantastic week. It’s so exciting to think about what God will have used this period of prayer for our schools to accomplish for His Name and His Kingdom.
A great evening and around 50 came with testimonies and inspiring stories – including one school who agreed to have a Christian input for the first time (after many years of trying) on the morning of the event! Also a good opportunity to find out just how many schools in our area have prayer groups and/or are prayed for in other ways.
We had 16 people from 7 different churches. Very good atmosphere. Its only the 3rd one we’ve done, and we plan to do one a term, so the message is filtering out steadily. Worship and praise to start with, then several short periods of prayer, with me giving some pointers before each prayer time. Briefly interviewed a local deputy head, who gave us 4 specific things to pray for for people in senior management positions. A very encouraging evening.
