2009 Feedback

The vision behind Pray for Schools is where possible for several groups or churches in an area to meet together to pray for local schools, and to encourage groups praying for local schools to begin. Here’s some feedback from Pray for Schools events that took place in May 2009.

• A good evening about 40 present including teachers, parents, youth workers and young people and one Primary head teacher

• Good resources opportunity and fast moving varied programme. About 45 people there from all kinds of backgrounds and a good sense of this being the start of something more.

• We had a really good response to our event on Tuesday – approximately 30 people came on the evening and were really encouraged by the opportunity to spend time praying for the schools in and around our area. We also had a book stall from Wesley Owen so that was an added point of interest!

• We were encouraged by the number who attended representing schools, churches and the wider community. There was a definite desire to help and become involved in our schools where the opening to help exists.

• It was with great enthusiasm and excitement that a few of us met at the event to talk, chat, encourage and pray for the schools in our region and neighbourhoods. After writing to many of the schools we have received interest. Some would like to become involved, others want to be put on mailing list and we’re praying for those we’ve not heard from.

• This has also given us an opportunity to meet with those who have already been praying for many years. Joining this initiative ‘Pray for Schools’ is really encouraging us to go forward in faith too and to pray for all school workers who show God’s love in schools.
